Konstatēts, ka atkarībā no gaisa mitruma, temperatūru diapazonā no 700 līdz 900°C notiek termodinamiski atšķirīgi procesi. The theoretical part of this research project contains information on thermonuclear synthesis, tokamaks and potential accident – loss of vacuum and loss of coolant – scenarios, divertor material – tungsten, its oxides and the oxidation processes of tungsten depending on the temperature as well as tungsten and tungsten oxide reactions with water. Oxidation of tungsten was studied using powder X-ray diffractometry, thermal analysis and electron microscopy, in order to characterize tungsten structure, surface morphology, as well as to estimate influence of air humidity on tungsten oxidation. Tungsten was heated from room temperature to 1000°C in a humid and dry synthetic air flow. Thermogravimetry was used to determine the mass gain of the samples. Derivative of differential thermal analysis curves was used to identify oxidation and phase transition processes and X-ray diffractometry was used to determine the composition of the tungsten samples after heating. It was determined, that depending on the air humidity, in the temperature interval from 700 to 900°C thermodynamically different processes occur.
