Kūdrāji ir nozīmīgi siltumnīcefekta gāzu (SEG) regulētāji. Neilgtspējīga kūdras ieguve stimulē SEG emisiju apjoma pieaugumu. Lai pēc kūdras ieguves kūdrājs nepārtaptu emitētājā, to svarīgi rekultivēt. Viens no efektīvākajiem un Latvijā piemērotākajiem rekultivācijas veidiem klimatu pozitīvi ietekmējošas SEG aprites nodrošināšanā ir apmežošana. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir raksturot apmežošanas rekultivācijas veidu un novērtēt tā ietekmējošos faktorus SEG emisiju samazināšanā kūdrājos. Pētījumā veikta LIFE REstore projektā iegūto datu analīze. Iegūtie rezultāti liecina, ka apmežotajās teritorijās visciešāko sakarību ar emitēto CO2 apjomu no analizētajiem faktoriem veido augsnes temperatūras. Tām pieaugot palielinās arī CO2 emisijas. Pieaugot augsnes dziļumam, temperatūru korelācija ar CO2 emisijām kļūst ciešāka. Peatlands play a significant role in the regulation of greenhouse gasses (GHG). Unsustainable peat extraction increases GHG emissions. To keep peatlands from becoming emitters, it is important to recultivate them after peat extraction. One of the most effective and suitable types of recultivation in Latvia that has a positive effect on GHG circulation is afforestation. The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to describe afforestation as a type of recultivation and to evaluate its influencing factors in the reduction of GHG emissions in peatlands. The study analysed the data obtained in the LIFE REstore project. The results show that in afforested areas the closest correlation with the amount of emitted CO2 out of all the analysed factors is formed by soil temperature. As it increases, so do CO2 emissions. As the depth of soil increases, the correlation between temperature and CO2 emissions becomes closer.
