Latvijas evaņģēliski luteriskās Baznīcas episkopāts padomju varas apstākļos (1944.-1989.)

Abstract

Maģistra darbā: Latvijas evaņģēliski luteriskās Baznīcas episkopāts padomju varas apstākļos (1944. – 1989.) tiek analizēta LELB darbība to skatot caur arhibīskapu T. Grīnberga, K. Irbes, G. Tūra, J. Matuļa un Ē. Mestera darbības prizmu padomju okupācijas laikā. Ateistiska režīma apstākļos Baznīcas mijiedarbībai ar valsti, Baznīcas pastāvēšanai un spējai veikt savu kalpošanas misiju īpaša nozīme bija arhibīskapu personībām, viņu prasmei rast kompromisu ar padomju varu. Katra arhibīskapa amata funkciju laikā PSRS bija atšķirīga reliģijpolitika. Maģistra darbā tiek apskatīts kā arhibīskapi katrs savā veidā, centās Baznīcas pastāvēšanas vārdā mijiedarboties ar padomju varu visatsķirīgākajos apstākļos – no varas centieniem totāli kontrolēt Baznīcu līdz neitrālai Baznīcas iekšējo nesaskaņu vērošanai un atteikšanās no kontroles pār Baznīcu.

This Master's thesis: The Episcopate of Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church in the Soviet Regime (1944.– 1989.) analyzes the activities of the LELB through the prism of the activities of Archbishops T. Grinbergs, K. Irbe, G. Turs, J. Matulis and E. Mesters during the Soviet occupation. In the existence of the Church and its ability to carry out its ministry mission under the conditions of an atheistic regime for the Church's interaction with the state, of special importance were the personalities of the archbishops, their ability to find a compromise with the Soviets. During the term of the Episcopate of each Archbishop, the USSR had a different religious policy - from the government's efforts to take full control of the Church to the neutral observation of the Church's internal discord and the relinquishment of control over the Church. The master's thesis researches how archbishops tried to interact with the Soviet power in the most different circumstances in their own way in the name of the existence of the Church.
