Vjetnamas kara atspoguļojums trimdas latviešu presē (1965-1973)

Abstract

Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir ‘’Vjetnamas kara atspoguļojums trimdas latviešu presē (1965-1973).’’ Darba mērķis ir iegūt priekšstatu par Vjetnamas kara ietekmi uz trimdas latviešiem, kuriem piederēja nozīmīga loma Latvijas neatkarības idejas saglabāšanā un latvietības uzturēšanā laikā, kad Latviju bija okupējusi Padomju Savienība (1945-1991). Viens no veidiem kā izpētīt plašāk trimdas latviešu dzīvi un darbu trimdas apstākļos, ir izpētīt viņu sarakstīto presi, kas var kalpot kā spogulis trimdas latviešu idejām, uzskatiem un darbiem. Taču tā kā preses materiāls ir ļoti bagātīgs, tad tika izvēlēta konkrēta tematika, ko pētīt. Šajā darbā tas ir Vjetnamas karš, viens no spilgtākajiem un ietekmīgākajiem Aukstā kara konfliktiem, konkrēti apskatot ASV iesaisti karā no 1965.gada līdz 1973.gadam. Darbā tiek apskatīta latviešu sabiedriskā darbība, ideoloģiskā nostāja, militārā darbība, latviešu preses salīdzinājums ar citu rietumnieku preses tendencēm.

The title of the bachelor's work is "Coverage of the Vietnam War in the Latvian press in exile (1965-1973)." The aim of the work is to get an idea of the impact of the Vietnam War on Latvians in exile, who played an important role in preserving the idea of Latvia's independence and maintaining Latvian culture and language during the occupation of Latvia by the Soviet Union (1945-1991). One of the ways to study the life and work of Latvians in exile in more detail is to study the press written by them, which can serve as a mirror of the ideas, views and works of Latvians in exile. However, as the press material is very rich, a specific topic was chosen to study. In this work, it is the Vietnam War, one of the most striking and influential Cold War conflicts, specifically looking at the US involvement in the war from 1965 to 1973. The work examines the Latvian public activity, ideological position, military activity, comparison of the Latvian press with the tendencies of other Western press.
