Izglītojoša tiešsaistes mācību platforma "Quizlet" skolēnu angļu valodas vārdu krājuma bagātināšanai skolotāja privātpraksē

Abstract

Mūsdienās valodas apguvi un mācīšanu ietekmē tehnoloģijas, tāpēc skolotāji izmanto dažādas metodes un rīkus, lai mācītu angļu valodas vārdu krājumu. Problēma ir tā, ka skolēni uzskata leksiku par sarežģītu uzdevumu, jo vārdi tiek rakstīti atšķirīgi. Diplomdarba autore ir izpētījusi “Quizlet” kā vārdu krājuma uzlabošanas un apguves rīku angļu valodas stundās privātajā mācību praksē. Autore ir analizējusi literatūru par kopīgajām leksikas un tiešsaistes platformu mācīšanas metodēm, kuras varētu ieviest valodas apguves procesā. Kā pētījuma metode tika izvēlēta gadījuma izpēte. Pēc interviju veikšanas diplomdarba autore saprata, ka divi studenti no privātās mācību prakses vēlas apgūt jaunu vārdu krājumu ar izglītojošu tiešsaistes platformu, tāpēc skolotāja iekļāva izglītības platformu “Quizlet” valodas apguvē. Turklāt “Quizlet” tika izmantots, lai izveidotu skolēniem apgūstamo vārdu krājumu. Pētījuma laikā studentu vārdu krājuma testi tika analizēti privātajā mācību praksē, 2021. gada janvārī, februārī un martā. Skolēnu atgriezeniskās saites un vārdu krājuma testu analīze sniedza pierādījumus, ka izglītības tiešsaistes platformu “Quizlet” varētu izmantot kā papildu rīku, apgūstot angļu valodas vārdu krājumu. Skolēni uzskatīja izglītojošo platformu “Quizlet” par noderīgu mācību līdzekli. Autore bija novērtējusi divus skolēnus no privātās mācību prakses un sapratusi, ka aplikācija “Quizlet” palīdzēja skolēniem labāk iemācīties un atcerēties vārdu krājumu. Turklāt tā uzlaboja vārdu krājuma pareizrakstības rezultātus. Autore ir secinājusi, ka ar piedāvāto teoriju un iegūtajiem datiem, diplomdarbs var palīdzēt skolotājiem ieviest mācību rīku, lai uzlabotu skolēnu angļu valodas vārdu krājuma prasmes privātajā mācību praksē, kas būtu kā ieteikums izmantot jaunas metodes, mācot angļu valodas vārdu krājumu.

Nowadays language learning and teaching is affected by the technology therefore teachers use various methods and tools to teach English vocabulary. The issue is that students view vocabulary as a difficult task because the words are spelt differently. The author of the Diploma paper has examined “Quizlet” as a tool for improving and learning vocabulary in English lessons in private teaching practice. The author has analysed the literature on the common methods of teaching vocabulary and educational online platforms that could be implemented in the language learning process. A case study was chosen as a research method. After conducting the interviews, the author of the Diploma paper understood that two students from private teaching practice wish to learn new vocabulary with an educational online platform, therefore the teacher had included the educational platform “Quizlet” in the language learning. In addition, “Quizlet” was used to create study sets for students. During the research, students’ vocabulary tests were analysed during private teaching practice, January, February, and March 2021. The analysis of two students’ feedback and vocabulary tests provided evidence that the educational online platform “Quizlet” could be used as an additional tool for studying English vocabulary. For students “Quizlet” application can be regarded as a useful learning tool. The author had assessed two students from private teaching practice and understood that “Quizlet” application helped students to learn and remember vocabulary better. Besides, it improved the results of the vocabulary spelling. The author has concluded that with theory and data provided, the present Diploma paper can help the teachers to implement the learning tool to improve students’ English vocabulary skills in private teaching practice, as a suggestion of using new methods when teaching English vocabulary.
