The theme of the bachelor's thesis is "Library as a place for study work", in which students' habits of using academic libraries are studied. The aim of this study is to identify what impacts students' learning habits and going to the academic library to learn or carry out research-related activities. The work used a theory of axiology or theory of value, in a context relevant to the Library and Information science. The main research method is questionnaires, supplementing it with an interview. The main results show that the library is mostly used to learn or study. Students prefer to go to a library in groups rather than individually. The working time of academic libraries in Latvia was assessed as insufficient. In general, academic libraries in Latvia are assessed positively among students.
