Terminoloģijas ekvivalence Latvijas Privāto pensiju fondu likuma tulkojumā angļu valodā

Abstract

Juridisko tekstu tulkošana ir viens no sarežģītākajiem tulkošanas veidiem terminoloģijas pārbagātības dēļ. Spiediens, ko ES dalībvalstsis izjūt tulkojot vietējos tiesību aktus, ir milzīgs, jo centieni izveidot vienotu ES terminoloģijas bāzi ir nepārtraukti. Juridisko tekstu tulkošanas apvienošanai ar ekonomikas nozares tekstiem neizbēgami rada problēmas. Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir noteikt un izpētīt terminoloģijas ekvivalentus, kas izmantoti Latvijas Privāto pensiju fondu likuma tulkojumā angļu valodā un noteikt vai šo terminu lietojums ir konsekvents iepriekš tulkotajos Latvijas tiesību aktos. Pētāmo tekstu korpuss iekļauj 32 terminus, kas definēti Privāto pensiju fondu likuma I Nodaļā. Darba mērķis is sasniegts, izmantojot kvalitatīvas izpētes metodi. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka Privāto pensiju fondu likuma tulkojumā ievērota formālā ekvivalence un ka pētījumā analizēto terminu lietojums Lavijas Republikas tiesību aktos nav konsekvents. Pētījuma rezultātus veido rekomendācijas attiecībā uz vispiemērotākajiem analizēto terminu ekvivalentiem.

Legal translation is one of the most difficult types of translation due to the abundance of terminology alone. The pressure that the EU Member States feel when translating local legislative acts is tremendous as the pursuit to create a common EU terminology base is ongoing. Combining the translation of legal texts with the subject of economics which continuously undergoes terminology changes locally is bound to raise issues. The purpose of the Master thesis is to identify and analyse terminological equivalents used in the English translation of the Latvian Private Pension Fund Law and to determine if the use of the terms is consistent throughout previously translated Latvian legislative acts. The research corpus comprises of 32 terms defined in Chapter I of the translation of the Private Pension Fund Law. The goal is reached through qualitative research. The results of the analysis show that the translation of the Private Pension Fund Law adheres to formal equivalence and that the use of analysed terms is inconsistent throughout the legislative acts of the Republic of Latvia. The results of the research comprise recommendations concerning the most appropriate equivalents to the terms analysed.
