Latvijas Universitātes Botānikas un mikoloģijas kolekcijās glabājas vairākas vēsturiskās herbāriju kolekcijas, ko veidojuši dabaspētnieki vai to organizācijas. Viena no šādām kolekcijām ir agronoma Jēkaba Esera (Essers, citkārt Ezers; 1864 -1927) herbārijs, ko tās īpašnieks savā testamentā novēlēja Latvijas Universitātei. Esera herbāriju veido piecas biezas mapes, kuras satur 1186 Sāmsalā Igaunijā ievākti augu paraugi, starp kuriem sastopami arī dabas retumi.en_US
The Botanical and Mycological Collections of the University of Latvia contain several historical herbarium collections created by naturalists or their organizations. One of such collections is the herbarium of agronomist Jēkabs Esers (Essers, also Ezers; 1864 -1927), which its owner bequeathed to the University of Latvia in his will. The herbarium of Esera consists of five thick folders containing 1186 samples of plants collected on Saaremaa in Estonia, including natural rarities.
