Migrantu krīzes rāmējuma dinamika Latvijas sabiedrisko mediju portālā "LSM.lv": Baltkrievijas piemērs

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Migrantu krīzes rāmējuma dinamika Latvijas sabiedrisko mediju portālā “LSM.lv”: Baltkrievijas piemērs”. Bakalaura darba pētnieciskā problēma balstās pieņēmumā, ka veidam, kā plašsaziņas līdzekļi apzīmē un kategorizē cilvēkus – migrantus – ir nozīmīga ietekme uz to, kādus juridiskos un morālos pienākumus pret viņiem izjūt valstis un sabiedrības, kuras viņus uzņem. Saistībā ar situāciju Baltkrievijā aktualizējās ar migrantiem saistītā tematika Latvijas publiskajā telpā un neviennozīmīga globālās krīzes lokālo un sociālo aspektu interpretācija sabiedrībā. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt un noteikt galvenos ziņu rāmējumus migrantu krīzes pie Baltkrievijas robežas atspoguļojumā sabiedrisko mediju portālā “LSM.lv”. Pētnieciskā darba teorētiskajā daļā raksturota migrācijas jēdziena teorētiskās izpratnes attīstība, pētījumi par migrācijas atspoguļojumu plašsaziņas līdzekļos, sabiedrisko mediju lomu un specifiku digitālajā vidē, īpaši pievēršoties migrācijas tematikas atspoguļojumam sabiedriskajos medijos. Empīriskais pētījums ir balstīts jaukta pētījuma dizainā, kur secīgi pirmajā pētījuma posmā izmantots kvantitatīvās satura analīzes veids – Hollijas Semetko (Holli Semetko) un Patijas Valkenburgas (Patti Valkenburg) rāmējuma analīzes pieeja, kas papildināta ar tās plašākām un jaunākām interpretācijām –, bet iegūto datu interpretācijas pamatojumam izmantotas kvalitatīvās padziļinātās ekspertu intervijas. Bakalaura darba rezultāti liecina, ka visbiežāk identificētā rāmējuma kategorija rakstiem par migrantu krīzi bijis rāmējuma tips “konflikts”, kategorija ir fiksēta aptuveni trešajā daļā no visa portāla “LSM.lv” satura šajā tēmā. Savukārt aptuveni ceturtajā daļā analizēto ziņu kā dominējošais rāmējuma tips identificēta kategorija “politizācija”, un tai seko “aizsardzība/drošība”.

The theme of the Bachelor’s Thesis is “Media framing dynamics in the Official news portal of Latvian Radio and Latvian Television "LSM.lv": The case of Belarus–European Union border crisis”. The research problem of the Bachelor's thesis is based on the assumption that the way in which the media identify and categorize people – migrants – has a significant impact on the legal and moral responsibilities of the countries and societies that host them. The issues related to migrants in Latvia's public space and the ambiguous interpretation of the local and social aspects of the global crisis in society became topical in connection with the political situation in Belarus. The purpose of the research is to determine the main news frames in the coverage of the Belarus–European Union border crisis in the Official news portal of Latvian Radio and Latvian Television "LSM.lv". The theoretical part of the research describes the development of the theoretical understanding of the concept of migration, research on the coverage of migration in the media, the role and specifics of public service media in the digital environment, with a special focus on the coverage of migration in public service media. The empirical research is based on a mixed methods research design. The first phase of the research uses a quantitative content analysis approach – a typology of news frames by Holli Semetko and Patti Valkenburg. Qualitative in–depth expert interviews were used to support and supplement data interpretations. The results of the Bachelor's thesis show that the most frequently identified frame category within articles on the migrant crisis was the frame type “conflict”, the category is identified in approximately a third of the entire news content he news portal “LSM.lv” has written in this topic. In turn, about a quarter of the news are detected in the category “politization” as the predominant framing type, followed by “defense / security” frame category.
