Latvijas skolās kopš 2020. gada atbilstoši jauniem pamatizglītības un vispārējās vidējās izglītības standartiem pakāpeniski tiek ieviests jauns mācību saturs un pieeja. Tostarp, mācību priekšmets – “Dizains un tehnoloģijas I”, kura ietvaros skolēniem jāapgūst dažādas dizaina tēmas, viena no tām – interjera dizains. Since 2020, new teaching content and approach have gradually been introduced in Latvian schools in line with the new standards for basic and secondary education. In particular, the subject of “Design and Technology I”, which requires students to learn different topics of design, one of which is interior design. It is entirely new subject where teachers need to know both the framework of the programme and the methods and tools to teach it. Practitioners and researchers in the field of interior design explain that 21st century education is unimaginable without the use of imersive technologies. Consequently, it is becoming increasingly important to effectively integrate augmented reality (AR) technologies for developing interior design skills in secondary schools, which also contributed to the theme of this master’s thesis titled “Augmented reality technologies for achieving interior-design learning goals in secondary school”. This research was implemented using a design-based study approach in combination with several qualitative research methods. The study presents three chapters and a conclusion. The first chapter – theoretical scope of the study, the second chapter – outline of the methodology of the study. The third or the empirical part of this work presents the results of the validation of mappings with 5 experts on AR integration for the development of skills defined by the subject. 10 analysis of learning experience were made and overviewed 16 AR content-building platforms. Includes an analysis of the results obtained from the validation of learning experience with 10th grade pupils. The work includes 12 images, 14 tables, as well as 170 literature sources and 16 attachments.
