Abstract
Bakalaura darbs satur 40 lpp. (neieskaitot titullapu, kopsavilkumu, satura rādītāju un bibliogrāfiju).
The bachelor’s thesis “Women in The South Korean Military Service in the 21st Century” is a study of everyday life of modern women, and the reasons why women volunteer for military service in South Korea, comparing it to men, who do military service as a mandatory national duty. The work has been developed by identifying the historical sources available on Internet resources, as well as in the National Library of Latvia and the Korean Studies Center of the University of Latvia. During fieldwork, the author interviewed two women serving in the South Korean military. The work consists of three parts, which explore the history of the South Korean military service, the reasons for its establishment, the impact of the Korean War (1950-1953) on the South Korean military service, and the everyday life of women in the military service. The bachelor's thesis contains 40 pages (without front page, summery index and bibliography).
