Romiešu dzejas latviskojumi

Abstract

Promocijas darbā “Romiešu dzejas latviskojumi” izpētīta romiešu dzejas latviskošanas tradīcija. Šis ir pirmais salīdzināmajā literatūrzinātnē izstrādātais apkopojošais un diahroniskais pētījums par romiešu dzejas tulkošanu, recepciju un ar to saistītajiem jautājumiem Latvijā. Teorētiskā pētījuma izvērsumā aplūkota romiešu dzejas tulkošanas vēsture, antīko īpašvārdu atveides problemātika un digitālo humanitāro zinātņu potenciāls romiešu dzejas recepcijas pētniecībā. Tulkošanas stratēģijas skatītas kultūrmijiedarbes perspektīvā, nepievēršoties padziļinātai tulkojumzinātnes jomas jautājumu izpētei. Darba izstrādes gaitā izveidota romiešu dzejas latviskojumu bibliogrāfija. Pētījuma empīriskajā daļā sniegts hronoloģisks pārskats par romiešu dzejas latviskošanas tradīcijas attīstību un analizēta antīkā pantmēra atveide romiešu dzejas atdzejojumos. Pētījumā lietotas gan kvantitatīvas, gan kvalitatīvas pētniecības metodes. Atdzejojumu bibliogrāfijas veidošanā izmantota bibliogrāfiskā, statistiskā un satura kvantitatīvā analīze. Atdzejošanas tradīcijas attīstība pētīta, lietotojot komparatīvo, tipoloģisko un kultūrvēsturiski deskriptīvo metodi. Katra pantmēra recepcijas diahroniskā analīze veikta, izmantojot komparatīvo un kontrastīvo tekstu analīzi. The doctoral thesis “Translations of Roman Poetry into Latvian” presents a study on the tradition of translating Roman poetry into Latvian. This is the first comprehensive diachronic study in Latvian comparative literary studies on the translation of Roman poetry into Latvian, its reception, and surrounding issues. The theoretical part of the research focuses on the history of Roman poetry translation, the challenges of rendering ancient proper names, and the potential of digital humanities in the study of Roman poetry reception. The translation strategies explored in the thesis are examined from the perspective of cultural interaction, bypassing the need for an in-depth investigation into the issues within the field of translation studies. As part of the research, a bibliography of Latvian translations of Roman poetry has been compiled. The empirical part of the thesis provides a chronological overview of the development of the tradition of translating Roman poetry into Latvian and provides an analysis of the representation of ancient metre in Roman poetry translations. The thesis employs both quantitative and qualitative research methods. The bibliography of translations is supported by bibliographic, statistical, and quantitative content analyses. The development of the tradition of poetry translation is examined using comparative, typological, and descriptive historico-cultural methods. The diachronic analysis of the reception of each metre type is carried out using comparative and contrastive textual analysis.
