Diplomdarbā izpētīta un noteikta konkurences situācija Latvijas degvielas mazumtirdzniecības tirgū, noteikti galvenie tirgus dalībnieki un to ietekme tirgū.
Pētījumā pielietota kvalitatīvā metode, t.i., tika apkopoti nozares viedokļi un analizēti apvienošanās gadījumi nozarē. Vēl nozare tika analizēta, izmantojot M. Portera piecu spēku modeli. Veiktā pētījuma rezultātā tika konstatēts, ka Latvijas degvielas mazumtirdzniecības tirgū pastāv oligopols. Par to liecina tirgus viendabīgā prece, augstas ienākšanas barjeras, kā arī pircēju nespēja ietekmēt produkta cenas. Ietekme tirgū koncentrējas trīs lielāko dalībnieku starpā, un apvienošanās procesu dēļ lielie uzņēmumi pastiprina savas pozīcijas.

Atslēgvārdi: Konkurence, degvielas tirgus, oligopols, apvienošanās. The aim of this work was to analyze competition within Latvian fuel retail market, identify the main market players and estimate their market power.
The methodology of this study was qualitative. It included summarizing the opinions of the industry’s experts and analyzing merging cases within the industry. The industry was also analyzed using M. Porters five forces framework. The major conclusion of this work is that there is oligopoly in Latvian fuel retail market. This conclusion is supported by the evidence that the product is homogenous, entry barriers are high and customers have no power to change the price of the product. Market power is concentrated in the hands of the three largest market players who reinforce their positions using mergers.
