The topic of the bachelor’s thesis “The development and prospects of telecommunication systems in Latvia”
The goal of the thesis is to assess the Latvian telecommunication industry and to find the potential solution to problems in their area of activity.
The thesis consists of three chapters – the first chapter covers theory and describes the notion and essence of telecommunications. This chapter gives several definitions related to the notion of telecommunication, as well as a description of the basic telecommunication services.
The second chapter focuses on telecommunications in Latvia. This chapter provides a description of telecommunication carriers, a market analysis of Latvian telecommunications, also considering the market situation in the European Union.
The third chapter is the author’s contribution focusing on future prospects of telecommunications. Solutions have been found to meeting the needs of people for the improvement of telecommunications industry – the key preferences of consumers and what should be improved in the telecommunications industry have been identified.
The author has made a hypothesis. Consumers display a high level of loyalty but it was found in the author’s research that additional innovations are needed to satisfy the wishes of consumers not only in the delivery of services, but also to show how important the consumer is for the telecommunications carrier as a client.
