Vidusskolas skolēnu starpkultūru kompetences attīstīšana

Abstract

Maģistra darba „Vidusskolas skolēnu starpkultūras kompetences attīstīšana” galvenais mērķis ir izpētīt starpkultūru kompetences attīstību vidusskolā un ierosināt tādu aktivitāšu izveidi, kas veicinātu skolēnu izpratni par dažādām kultūrām. Darba teorētiskajā daļa analizēta pieejamā literatūra par kultūru, tās nozīmi un ietekmi uz valodu un komunikāciju. Teorētisko pētījumu rezultātā sniegts kultūras un starpkultūru kompetences jēdzienu skaidrojums. Darba gaitā veikta gadījuma izpēte, kas ietver skolēnu darbības novērošanu vairāku stundu sērijā. Secinājumi izdarīti, balstoties arī uz aptaujas laikā iegūtajām skolēnu atbildēm. Lai iegūtu pārskatu pār skolotāju attieksmi un pieredzi, palīdzot skolēniem pilnveidot starpkultūru kompetenci, tika izveidota atsevišķa aptauja. Aptaujas rezultāti liecina, ka pedagogi apzinās starpkultūru kompetences svarīgumu, taču nespēj to pilnībā ietvert mācību procesā.

The aim of the Master Paper ‘Developing Secondary School Learners’ Intercultural Competence’ is to investigate the development of intercultural competence in the secondary level and to suggest various activities that would stimulate learners’ comprehension of different cultures. The theoretical part of the paper provides a summative analysis of the available theoretical material about the concept of culture, its significance and effect on language and communication. Based on the available literature, the theoretical part attempts to define the concepts of culture and intercultural competence. The practical part of the paper consists of a case study and the relevant conclusions, also based on the data obtained from the questionnaires. An additional questionnaire was designed to discover the attitude and experience of teachers with regard to acquiring intercultural competence at secondary school. The results show that the majority of educators recognize the importance of intercultural competence, yet are not able to fully incorporate it into the learning process.
