dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darba tēmas nosaukums ir „Politiskās ētikas problemātika Marka Aurēlija darbā”. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no Romas imperatora Marka Aurēlija sarakstītā filozofiskā sacerējuma Ta eis heauton jeb „Pašam sev” analīzes. Šāda analīze tiks saistīta ar Marka Aurēlija politisko darbību, un galvenais mērķis ir parādīt Marka Aurēlija politiskās darbības saskaņu vai nesaskaņu ar viņa filozofiju, kā arī attiecības starp Marka Aurēlija politiskajiem ideāliem, kā dabiskais likums, kosmopolītisms un cilvēku vienlīdzības idejas, un viņa imperatora profesionālo ētiku, kas nosaka valsts un tās pilsoņu interešu nostādīšanu pirmajā vietā.
„Dubultās pilsonības” koncepts, kuru lieto gan stoiķi, gan Marks Aurēlijs, nosaka, ka var pastāvēt t.s. dubultā lojalitāte jeb var pastāvēt grūtības starp Marka Aurēlija imperatora lomas un viņa kā kosmopolis pilsoņa identitātes savienošanu, respektīvi grūtības pastāv, jo pastāv jautājums, kurai lomai dot priekšroku, un kuras lomas uzdotos pienākumus nepieciešams pildīt vispirms. Vēl viens bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kāpēc pastāv tik dažādi uzskati jautājumā par to, vai Marks Aurēlijs bija tik ideāls valdnieks, kā viņa stoiciskā filozofija ierosināja.
Bakalaura dara struktūra sastāv no trīs galvenajiem tematiem: dabiskā likuma teorija, kosmopolis ideja un varas ētikas jautājumi. Darba metode ir „Pašam sev” analīzes salīdzināšana ar citiem vēstures avotiem un vēstures un filozofijas literatūrā atrodamajiem dažādajiem viedokļiem. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | The title of the barchelor‟s thesis is „The Problem of Political Ethics in the Work of Marcus Aurelius”. It consists of the analysis of Marcus Aurelius‟s philosophical work Ta eis heauton or „To Himself”, also known as „Meditations”. This analysis is related to the political actions of Marcus Aurelius and the main aim is to show the consistency between Marcus Aurelius philosophy and politics and the relations between his philosophical ideals such as natural law, cosmopolitanism and human equality idejas and his ethics as an emperor which today might be called professional ethics. The concept of „dual citizenship” found both in stoics

and in Marcus Aurelius suggests that there might be a question about dividing loyality and difficulties might appear for the Marcus Aurelius as an emperor to decide which of his roles – an emperor or a human being in the kosmopolis, should be preferred and which of the duties should be done. The other aim is also to clarify why there is such a different points of view whether Marcus Aurelius was consequent in his actions in regards to his stoic philosophy or not.
The structure of the barchelor‟s thesis consists of three main topics: natural law theory, kosmopolis idea and the ethics of power. The method of writing is comparison of the analysis of „To Himself” with other sources and different literature that gives an opinion of the historical events of the time. | en_US |
