To vajadzētu izmantot mūsdienu kristīgajās kopienās, jo arī mūsdienās kristieši cenšas saskatīt un veidot tādu baznīcu, kas nediskriminē uz dzimuma vai sociālās dzimtes pamata. dc.description.abstractThis paper researches 1st – 3rd century Gnotic texts in which different constructions of sex and gender are to be found. These texts present us with the ideas of man, its perfect state, fall from the perfect state and salvation. Gnosticism presents to us a tripartial man which consists of spirit, soul and body. Manly qualities are ascribed to spirit, feminine qualities to soul and body is more seen as neutral. We can find these qualities ascribed to man in early gnostic mythological layers. Different qualities are borrowed from ideas witch are rooted in medicine, history, culture, religion and ethics and found as in Greco-Roman so in the Jewish and Egyptian worldviews. Gnostic christians have modeled tripartial man more abstractly using the categories of maleness and femaleness. But common for the most part of Gnostic groups have thought that a human has both female and male qualities. Gnostic christians have based their understanding about human on this idea claiming that humans have a spirit (male) and a soul (female). The forms of Early Christianity where different because Christianity was not formed yet under one church and because of that the Gnostics are a good example how an early christian communities looked like and how Early Christians saw a human. Among Gnostic Christians existed almost no discrimination based on sex or social gender. By understanding the Gnostic model of man we can understand Early Christians better and use this understanding in modern Christian communities. Gnostic christian model can be used because today many Christians are trying to create a church which doese not discriminate people on the basis of sex or social gender.
