Kriminālistiskā odoroloģija ir maz analizēta un pētīta, nepastāv vienota izpētes sistēma. Vairākums pieejamo materiālu par kriminālistisko odoroloģiju ir novecojuši, taču jauni pētījumi nozares ietvaros netiek veikti. Daudzi juridisko profesiju pārstāvji kriminālistisko odoroloģiju uzskata kā nepieļaujamu pierādīšanā, kā arī noziedzīgo nodarījumu atklāšanā.
Darba mērķis ir pierādīt kriminālistiskās odoroloģijas izmantošanas iespējamību noziedzīgo nodarījumu atklāšanā, to pierādīšanā, kā arī personas vainas konstatēšanā.
Izanalizējot izvirzītā darba mērķi, jāsecina, ka kriminālistiskās odoroloģijas izstrādātā metodika un tehniskie paņēmieni izpētes sagatavošanās procesā un izpētes laikā ir procesuāli nostiprināti un zinātniski pamatoti, kas ļauj izmantot odoroloģiskās ekspertīzes secinājumus kā pierādījumu tiesas procesā.

Most of the material available for forensic odorology are obsolete, but new research within the industry are not taken. Many of the legal profession forensic odorology considered as unacceptable in the proof, as well as criminal detection.
The objective is to demonstrate the possibility of the use of forensic odorology in criminal detection, it is shown that the person at fault finding.
After analyzing the attainment of the goal, it can be concluded that the forensic odorology developed methods and techniques of research in preparation for and during the trial are procedurally embedded and scientifically sound, which allows you to use odorology examination findings as evidence in legal proceedings.
