Sociālie priekšstati par risku

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, kādi ir Latvijas studentu sociālie priekšstati par risku un tādām tā izpausmēm kā risks veselībai, risks satiksmes drošībā un risks dzīvībai, kā arī uzzināt, vai pastāv statistiski nozīmīgas atšķirības sociālajos priekšstatos par risku starp medicīnas studiju programmas un Latvijas Policijas akadēmijas studentiem. Pētījumā piedalījās 50 medicīnas programmas studenti un 57 Latvijas Policijas akadēmijas 2. kursa studenti. Sociālo priekšstatu noteikšanai tika izmantota darba autores izstrādāta anketa ar pieciem atvērtiem jautājumiem. Dati tika ievākti frontālā aptaujā bez laika ierobežojuma. Pētījuma rezultāti liecināja, ka studentu sociālie priekšstati par risku veic galveno funkciju – mazināt apdraudējuma radīto trauksmi. Tas tiek panākts, risku saistot ar apzinātu cilvēku rīcību, tā padarot to kontrolējamu. Svarīgs priekšstatu veidošanas avots ir plašsaziņas līdzekļi, kuros sniegtā informācija atspoguļojas sociālajos priekšstatos. Tomēr nepieciešamība mazināt satraukumu liek priekšstatos iekļaut ne tikai precīzu informāciju, bet arī pārspīlētu uzmanību pievērst citiem, mazāk nozīmīgiem faktoriem. Studentu sociālie priekšstati par risku lielā mērā atbilst reālajai statistikai, tie ir aktuāli, iekļauj jaunāko informāciju, tādējādi pasargājot no jauniem draudiem. Atšķirības sociālajos priekšstatos par risku starp pētāmajām izlasēm pastāv, taču tās vērojamas tikai atsevišķās priekšstatu niansēs. Tas liecina par specifisku zināšanu izmantošanu priekšstatu veidošanā, kas norāda uz jēdziena izpratnes raksturīgumu konkrētai sociālajai grupai, taču priekšstati nav krasi atšķirīgi, kas nodrošina savstarpējas komunikācijas iespējamību plašākā sabiedrībā.

Goal of the research was to find out what are the social representations of risk and the expressions of it like risk for health, risk in traffic safety and risk for life of Latvian students, as well as to find out are there statistically significant differences in social representations of risk between students of medical program and students of Latvian Police academy. 2nd year students of medical program and Latvian Police academy, 50 and 57 respectively, took part in the research. Questionnaire of five open questions developed by the author was used to determine the social representations. Data were gathered in a frontal poll without time restrictions. The results of the research showed that social representations of risk of students perform the main function – to decrease the anxiety created by threat. It is achieved by linking risk to conscious actions by that making it controllable. Important source of creating representations is mass media, information given in which reflects in the social representations. However the need to decrease the anxiety obliges to include not only precise information in the representations but also to pay exaggerated attention to other, less important factors. Students’ social representations to great extent correspond to the real statistics, they are actual, include the latest information by that preventing new threats. Differences in the social representations of risk between the studied samples exist but they are observable only in separate nuances of the representations. That proclaims about usage of specific knowledge in forming representations that points to characteristic of perception of the notion for the social group but the representations are not sharply different that ensures possibility of communication in wider society.
