Stereotipi par sievietēm ar pirmslaulības, vīra un dubultu uzvārdu

Šī pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, vai vērtējums par sievieti var mainīties atkarībā no viņas uzvārda izvēles pēc laulībām. Pētījumā piedalījās 172 studenti (M = 21,95 gadi), kuri nejaušināti tika sadalīti 3 eksperimentālajās grupās, saņemot vienu no 3 stimulmateriāliem: sievietes aprakstu ar 1) pirmslaulības uzvārdu, 2) vīra uzvārdu vai 3) dubultu uzvārdu. Aprakstītā sieviete tika vērtēta, izmantojot Stereotipu satura modeļa aptauju (Fiske, Cuddy, Glick & Xu, 2002). Rezultāti neuzrādīja atšķirības stereotipos par sievietēm ar dažādiem uzvārdiem, netika konstatētas arī dzimumatšķirības vērtējumos. Diskusijā tika apskatīti dažādi iespējamie rezultātu skaidrojumi, pētījuma ierobežojumi un ieteikumi turpmākajiem pētījumiem.

The goal of this study was to determine whether the assessment of a woman depends on her marital naming choice. 172 students (M = 21.95 years) took part in this study, they were randomly split into 3 experimental groups receiving one of three stimulus: description of women with 1) retained birth name, 2) her husband’s surname or 3) a hyphenated name. Stimulus was rating using the Stereotype Content Model survey (Fiske, Cuddy, Glick & Xu, 2002). The results show that there is no difference between students' ratings of women with different marital names, and gender differences were not found. The discussion deals with various possible explanations of results, deficiencies of the method and suggestions for future research.
