Pētījuma mērķis: izpētīt skolotāja sociālās prasmes kā pedagoģiskās kompetences nosacījumu.
Darbs sastāv no ievada, piecām nodaļām, nobeiguma, 67 vienībām izmantotās literatūras un avotu saraksta, 2 pielikumiem. Darbā ietverta 1 diagramma, 1 shēma un 6 tabulas.
Pirmajā nodaļā teorētiski analizētas sociālās prasmes gan vēsturiski filozofiskā skatījumā, gan pedagoģiski psiholoģiskā skatījumā. Otrajā nodaļā analizētas skolotāja pedagoģiskās kompetences. Trešajā nodaļā dots pieaugušo vecumposmu raksturojums. Ceturtajā nodaļā aprakstītas skolotāju sociālās prasmes pedagoģiskās kompetences kontekstā mūsdienu pamatskolā. Piektajā nodaļā apkopoti ieteikumi skolotāju sociālo prasmju un pedagoģiskās kompetences pilnveidošanai.
Pētījuma laikā apstiprinājās hipotēze: ja tiek pilnveidotas skolotāja sociālās prasmes, viņa pedagoģiskā kompetence paaugstinās.
