Autentiski materiāli vārdu krājuma mācīšanai sekretārēm profesionālajā vidusskolā

Abstract

Cilvēki mācās ne tikai no grāmatām skolās, bet arī no apkārtējās pasaules. Mācoties vārdiņus plašs uzdevumu un materiālu klāsts ir nepieciešams, tāpēc skolotājam ir jāatrod kā padarīt stundas atšķirīgākas ar dažādu materiālu un uzdevumu palīdzību. Darba autore ir uzsākusi darbu Ogres Profesionālajā vidusskolā, tāpēc tēma vārdiņu mācīšana lietišķās angļu valodas stundās sekretārēm tika izvēlēta. Galvenie faktori bija grāmatu un materiālu trūkums lietišķās angļu valodas mācīšanai sekretārēm. Literatūras avoti par autentiskiem materiāliem un vārdu krājuma mācīšanu tika izpētīti, lai saprastu kā savāktie autentiskie materiāli varētu tikt izmantoti stundās. Ogres Profesionālajā vidusskolā tika veikts gadījuma pētījums ar autentisku un autores izveidotu uzdevumu izmantošanu lietišķās angļu valodas stundās, lai pārbaudītu, kā vārdu krājums otrajā vārdiņu kontroldarbā ir mainījies, papildinājies, salīdzinot ar pirmo kontroldarbu. Pētījuma laikā tika izveidotas un veiktas divas aptaujas. Pirmā aptauja, kas tika veikta tēmas sākumā, ļāva noskaidrot skolēnu valodas apguves vajadzības lietišķās angļu valodas stundās. Otrajā aptaujā skolēni novērtēja mācību procesu un materiālus, pabeidzot tēmu Viesnīcas un rezervācijas. Savāktie dati bija apmierinoši un autore sasniedza sava darba mērķi - palielināt skolēnu vārdu krājumu, kā arī izveidoja atbilstošus uzdevumus ar autentiskajiem materiāliem. Neskatoties uz to, ka darba mērķis tika sasniegts, Diplomdarba autore apsver nepieciešamību veikt plašāku pētījumu, lai sagatavotu uzdevumus un savāktu vairāk autentisku materiālu, kurus izmantot lietišķās angļu valodas stundās, attīstot apgūstamās valodas prasmes un aspektus, lai apkopotu vairāk datu par citām lietišķās angļu valodas stundām Ogres Profesionālajā vidusskolā

People not only learn in schools from books, but they also learn from the real world. In teaching vocabulary a wide range of materials and tasks is needed, so the teacher must find how to make the lessons different bringing in other teaching materials and tasks. The author of the Paper has begun to work in Ogre Vocational school, which is why the vocabulary teaching in Business English lessons to the secretaries was chosen. The main factors were the lack of the books and materials used for teaching Business English to secretaries. Literature sources on authentic materials and vocabulary teaching were studied in order to understand how the gathered authentic materials could be used in the lessons. The case study was carried out on implementing authentic materials and self designed tasks in Business English lessons in Ogre Vocational school in order to see how the vocabulary acquisition has changed in the second vocabulary test in comparison to the first vocabulary test in the Business English lessons. During the research two questionnaires were designed and carried out. The first needs analyses questionnaire was distributed in the beginning of the lessons to find out the students’ needs in the Business English lessons. The second questionnaire was designed to get students evaluation of the lessons and materials after finishing the theme “Hotels and reservations”. The data obtained was satisfying and the author managed to achieve the aim and to increase students’ vocabulary knowledge during the lessons, as well as to come up with appropriate activities for the students using authentic materials. Despite the fact that the aim was reached, the author of the Diploma Paper considers the necessity of carrying out a wider research in order to prepare and try out a greater number of authentic materials, which could be used in the Business English lessons for developing all language skills and aspects. And as well as to gather more data on the other topics covered in the Business English lessons in Ogre Vocational school
