Vecāku audzināšanas pieeju saistība ar vecāku kompetences izjūtu

Abstract

Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt saistības starp vecāku kompetences izjūtu un vecāku audzināšanas pieejām. Pētījuma gaitā tika ievākti dati no 30 ģimenēm (30 mātēm un 30 tēviem), kurās ir vismaz viens bērns vecumā no 7 līdz 11 gadiem. Izlases raksturojums – respondenti vecumā no 25 līdz 54 gadiem. Tēvu vidējais vecums - 38,9 gadi, mātēm – 36,3 gadi. Izlasi veidoja 50% tēvi un attiecīgi 50% mātes. Pētījumā izmantotais instrumentārijs: 1) Alabamas audzināšanas aptauja (The Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (APQ), Clerkin, Marks, Policaro & Halperin, 2007). Adaptāciju latviešu valodā veikusi 2006. gadā L. Kalniņa maģistra darba ietvaros (Kalniņa, 2006). 2) Vecāku kompetences izjūtas skala (Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC), Johnston & Mash, 1989). Skalu latviešu valodā adaptējušas Inga Skreitule -Pikše un Sandra Sebre (Skreitule-Pikše & Sebre, 2008). Skalai ir atsevišķa forma, kas domāta mātēm, un forma tēviem. Tika konstatēta statistiski nozīmīga pozitīva saistība starp vecāku iesaistīšanos bērna aktivitātēs un viņu priekšstatu par savu efektivitāti vecāku lomā un vecāku kompetences izjūtu kopumā. Tika konstatēta arī pozitīva saistība starp pozitīvu vecāku attieksmi pret bērnu un viņu priekšstatu par savu efektivitāti vecāku lomā un kopējo vecāku kompetences izjūtu. Negatīva saistība konstatēta starp vecāku sliktu attieksmi pret bērnu un viņu priekšstatu par savu efektivitāti vecāku lomā un vecāku kompetences izjūtu kopumā. Kā arī negatīva statistiski nozīmīga saistība tika konstatēta starp vecāku pretrunīgu disciplinēšanu un vecāku apmierinātības izjūtu. Tēviem – konstatēta statistiski nozīmīga saistība starp iesaistīšanos bērna aktivitātēs un viņu priekšstatu par savu efektivitāti vecāku lomā un vecāku kompetences izjūtu kopumā, kā arī starp pozitīvu vecāku attieksmi pret bērnu un viņu priekšstatu par savu efektivitāti vecāku lomā.

The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between sense of competence in the parenting role and parenting practices. During the research data was collected from 30 families (30 mothers and 30 fathers) which had at least one child aged 7 to 11 years old. Sample characteristics - respondents aged 25 to 54 years. The mean age of the fathers - 38.9 years, of the mothers - 36.3 years. Sample consisted of 50% of fathers and 50% of mothers. The following tools were used in current study: 1) The Alabama Parenting Questionnaire (The Alabama parenting Questionnaire (APQ), Clerkin, Mark, Policaro & Halperin, 2007). Adapted in Latvian by L. Kalnina as part of her Master’s paper in 2006 (Kalnina, 2006). 2) Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (Parenting Sense of Competence Scale (PSOC), Johnston & Mash, 1989). This scale was adapted in Latvian by Inga Skreitule-Pikse and Sandra Sebre (Skreitule-Pikse & Sebre, 2008). The scale has a separate form, which is designed for mothers and a form designed specifically for fathers. A statistically significant positive relationship was detected between parental involvement in child's activities and their perception of the effectiveness of their parenting role and sense of competence in the parenting role in general. Also, a positive relationship was found between positive parental attitudes towards children and their perception of the effectiveness of their parental role and the overall sense of competence in the parenting role. A negative relationship was found between parental negative attitude towards their children and their idea of their effectiveness in their parental role and sense of competence in the parenting role in general. As well as a statistically significant negative relationship was found between contradictory parental discipline and their satisfaction in their performance of the parental role. For fathers – a statistically significant relationship was found between parental involvement in child’s activities and their perception of the effectiveness of their parental role and sense of competence in the parenting role in general, as well as between positive parental attitudes towards children and their perception of the effectiveness of their parental role.
