Debašu izmantošana kā līdzeklis vidusskolas skolēnu motivācijas mācīties angļu valodu paaugstināšanai

Abstract

Mūsdienās ir ļoti svarīgi mācīties angļu valodu. Globalizācijas process sekmē angļu valodas lietošanas paplašināšanos pasaulē. Tāpēc ir ļoti svarīgi skolēniem sākt mācīties angļu valodu skolā. Diplomdarba mērķis ir izpētīt debašu lomu vidusskolēnu motivācijas paaugstināšanā mācīties angļu valodu. Atsevišķa gadījuma pētījums tika veikts pedagoģiskās prakses laikā Jūrmalas Valsts Ģimnāzijā 2009. gada februārī un martā. Datu iegūšanas metodes bija debates angļu valodas stundās, anketas divdesmit astoņiem skolēniem un intervijas ar astoņām angļu valodas skolotājām, kuras praktizēja debates savās stundās. Iegūtie dati pierādīja, ka debates var izmantot angļu valodas stundās kā motivācijas līdzekli, lai paaugstinātu vidusskolēnu vēlēšanos mācīties angļu valodu. Iegūtie dati pierāda, ka debates motivē skolēnus mācīties angļu valodu.

It is crucial to learn the English language nowadays. The globalization process fosters the enlargement of the use of English throughout the world. That is why it is needed to start acquiring this foreign language at school. The aim of the Diploma Paper is to study the role of debate in increasing secondary school pupils’ motivation to learn English. A case study was carried out during the teaching practice in Jurmala State Gymnasium in February and March, 2009. The methods of data collections were the organized debate in the English lessons, the questionnaire for twenty eight pupils and the interviews with eight English teachers who practised debate during their lessons. The data gathered from the research proved that debate can be used during the English lessons being a motivating tool for increasing secondary school pupils’ wish to learn English. Thus, it is necessaty to organize debate during the English lessons as it can motivate pupils to learn the English language.
