Bakalaura darba tēma ir mediju kompetence kā skolotāju profesionalitātes dimensija. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt skolotāju mediju kompetences pilnveides iespējas profesionālajā darbībā. Mērķis tika sasniegts ar zinātniskās literatūras analīzi un 6 intervijām, kuru respondenti bija pedagogi ar augstu un zemu mediju kompetenci. Problēmas būtība: skolotāji tehniskos medijus izmanto administratīvo prasību pildīšanai, retāk didaktiskiem nolūkiem. Tika analizēta literatūra par skolotāju profesionalitātes raksturojumu, jēdzienu mediju kompetence un mūsdienu izglītības procesa digitalizāciju. Pētījuma rezultātos izkristalizējās tēze, ka tehnisko mediju lietošana ir saistīta ar motivācijas līmeni, sekot laika tendencēm. Pētījums atklāja, ka galvenās pedagogu problēmas ir tehnoloģiju nepieejamība un attieksme, ka interaktīvas nodarbības nespēj uzlabot mācību sasniegumus.

Goal of the study is to investigate teachers’ media competence development opportunities in professional activity. Goal was achieved with the analysis of scientific literature, and six interviews, respondents were teachers with high and low media expertise. Essence of the problem: teachers are using technical media to fulfill administrive requirements, less often for didactic purposes. Literature on teachers professional characteristics, concept of media competence and digitalization of the educational process were analyzed. The study resulted in a thesis – The use of technical media is related to the level of motivation to follow trends over time. The study revealed that the main concerns of teachers are lack of access to technologies and attitude that interactive lessons fail to improve academic performance.
