-ar darbu saistīto vērtību līmenī;
-organizācijas kultūras līmenī;
-darba vērtību saistības ar uztverto organizācijas kultūru līmenī.
Tika izvirzīti sekojošie pētījuma jautājumi:
•Darba vērtību mērīšanai tika adaptēta un izmantota Adriana Furnhama WVQ (Work Values Questionnaire) aptauja;
The thesis aim is to discuss the differences and similarities in perception of organizational culture and work value between environments in a non-profit organization and a for-profit structure. After completing the literature overview one can conclude that there has yet to be any definitive work done in regard to this subject.
The goal of this research paper is to identify the possibly existing connections between for-profit and non-profit organizations on various levels:
-values connected with work;
-organizational culture;
-correlation between work values with the percieved organizational culture.
The following research questions have been raised:
1.Is there any correlation between the work values of the employees and perceived organizational culture?
2.Is there a difference in correlations between the values of the employees and their perceived organizational structure in for-profit and non-profit organizations?
3.Is there a difference of the values of employees of for-profit and non-profit organizations?
4.Is there a difference in the perceptions of the organizational culture of for-profit and non-profit organizations?
Two groups of respondents have taken part in the research:
1. Fifty non-profit employees between the ages of 24 to 60, with a minimal work experience of two years took part in this study. The group consisted of 17 male and 33 female respondents. Out of the 50 participants, 35 consider Latvian to be their mother tongue, while the remaining 15 use Russian in everyday conversational practices.
2. Fifty for-profit employees between the ages of 24 to 60, with a minimal work experience of two years also took part in this study. The group consisted of 20 male and 30 female respondents. Out of the 50 participants, 34 consider Latvian to be their mother tongue, while the remaining 16 use Russian in everyday conversational practices.
The following research methods have been used:
•To measure the values of the employees Adrian Furnham’s Work Values Questionnaire was adapted and used.
•To measure the dimension of the organizational culture Gert Hofstede’s Values Survey Module (VSM 94) questionnaire was used.
In conclusion it can be stated that the differences of work values between employees of the for-profit and non-profit organizations do exist. Work values of the employees in for-profit structured organizations are a little more expressly defined, however intrinsic values differ significantly.
Dimensions of the perceived organizational culture do not have significant differences, with the exception that the employees in for-profit structured organizations have stronger expressed Power Distance indicator. Another important aspect is that there is a difference in correlation between work values and dimensions of perceived organizational culture of the for-profit organizations and non-profit organization employees: different values are significantly correlated with different dimensions of the percieved organizational cultures.
Key words: work values, perceived organizational culture, non-profit organizations, for-profit organizations.
