Maģistra darba tēma ir “Nodokļu politika Latvijas Republikā 1918. - 1934.g." The title of the Master’s work is „Tax Policy of the Republic of Latvia from 1918 to 1934”. The tax policy and taxation system in the history of the economy of Latvia hasn’t been explored despite tax policy is one of the most effective tools that a government may have not only to ensure collection of certain financial sources to guarantee its main functions, but also to implement some social, political, economic or even ideological principles to promote and support, for example, certain fields of economy or social groups. Thus the main target of this work is to study the development of the taxation system in Latvia from the very beginning when the independence of the new state was declared in 1918 and find out what were the main goals of the tax policy implemented by the government of Latvia, what principles it was based on and also look at the results and impact of the policy to the society.
