Mūzikas uztveres un nozīmes attiecības mūzikas semiotikā.

Abstract

Pētījumā „Par mūzikas uztveres un nozīmes attiecībām mūzikas semiotikā” tiek apskatīta mūzika kā pamatā aurāls fenomens. Līdz ar to tiek jautāts, kā aurāls fenomens var saturēt kādu nozīmi? Problēmas izklāsta gaitā tiek pieņemts nošķīrums starp muzikālām un nemuzikālām skaņām, lai pārbaudītu, vai mūzikai piedēvētā unikālā nozīme nav attiecināma arī uz ne-muzikālām parādībām. Pētījuma gaitā tiek aplūkotas mūzikas teorijas, kas šo nošķīrumu skata cilvēka uztveres un pieredzes kontekstā. Mūzikas nozīme šajās teorijās tiek identificēta ar mūziku kā veselumu uztverē, kas ļauj to skatīt arī kā atšķirīgu no ne-muzikālām skaņām.

The paper “Relations of Perception and Meaning in Semiotics of Music” considers music as an aural phenomenon. It raises a question – how can a purely aural phenomenon contain any meaning? In the course of this paper a distinction between music and non-musical sounds is accepted in order to examine if the unique meaning implied in music can be considered in relation to non-musical phenomenon as well. The paper includes theories of music that investigate this distinction in the context of human perception and experience. These theories identify the meaning in music with music as a united, organized whole in perception which enables to perceive music as something essentially different from non-musical sounds.
