Brīvības un pienākumu problemātika Epiktēta filosofijā.

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir „Brīvības un pienākuma problemātika Epiktēta filosofijā”. Darbā tiek skatīta cilvēka lielākā vērtība – brīvība vēlīnās stoa pārstāvja Epiktēta filosofijā. Tiek parādīta stoa dzīvesmākslas doktrīna un tās skanējums brīvlaistā verga Epiktēta piedāvātajā tikumiskajā dzīvošanā. Tiek atrasta cilvēka brīvības iespējamība nepieciešamo un nenovēršamo logosa likumsakarību pasaulē. Epiktēta skatījumā vienīgā cilvēkam pieejamā brīvība ir tikumīgas dzīves izvēles brīvība. Tā ir saskaņa pašam ar sevi un kosmosa loģisko izkārtojumu, kuru cilvēks var sasniegt, tikai veidojot pareizus priekšstatus par lietu patieso dabu un pareizi šos priekšstatus izmantojot. Var secināt, ka pienākumi Epiktētam nav pretrunā ar brīvību, bet ir tās nepieciešamā sastāvdaļa, jo pienākums saskaņā ar Epiktētu ir atbilstība savai dabai un nepārtraukta pievēršanās tam, kas ir paša varā: uzskatiem, iespaidiem, priekšstatiem, iekārēm, tieksmēm, izvēlei, nesatrauktībai utt.

The topic of the Bachelor's thesis is “The Problematic of Freedom and Responsibility in Epictetus's Philosophy”. The paper explores the greatest value of a man – freedom – in the philosophy of Epictetus, a representative of late Stoa. The doctrine of Stoa way of life and its interpretation within the virtuous living of Epictetus, the liberated slave, are being presented. The possibility of the freedom of a man within the world of interactions of the necessary and inevitable logos is being found. According to Epictetus, the only freedom available to a man, is the freedom of the choice of a virtuous life. It is the harmony with oneself and the logical design of the universe that a man can only achieve by making the right judgments upon the true nature of things, and by using those judgments accurately. One can conclude that responsibility in the philosophy of Epictetus is not at odds with freedom; instead, it is an integral part of the freedom since, according to Epictetus, responsibility is adherence to one's nature and a continuous involvement with what is a subject of one's exclusive control: beliefs, impressions, judgments, desires, impulses, choices, atarxia etc.
