Thesis "M. Minsky's and J. Fodor's modular approach in research of human psyche and artificial intelligence" draws attention to the modular structure of psyche. The goal is to identify the base-conditions of its functioning, as well as identify the potential to create artificial intelligence in the framework of this theory.
First chapter gives insight into Marvin Minsky's views, inspecting the aspects of thinking and memory in greater detail.
Second chapter presents Jerry Fodor's principles of modular approach. A vocabulary relevant to comprehension of author's understanding is given - partial modularity, central system, frame problem, informational encapsulation.
Thesis is concluded with a chapter about representation of knowledge, which draws more detailed attention to problems of syntax and computing.
It is concluded that the creation of artificial intelligence in terms of Minsky's approach is possible, but it is problematic in terms of Fodor's.
