Latviešu sportisti PSRS izlasēs olimpiskajās spēlēs 1952-1988

Abstract

Olimpiskās spēles ir lielākais sporta notikums pasaulē, kas tiek organizēts ik pēc četriem gadiem (atsevišķi ziemas un vasaras sporta veidiem). 20. gadsimtā latviešu sportisti, kas nebija devušies trimdā, olimpiskajās spēlēs startēja zem PSRS karoga. Šis pētījums veltīts latviešu sportistu gaitām un rezultātiem padomju gados. Latviešu sportistu vēsture padomju gados, ņemot vērā dažādus avotus un literatūru, ir maz pētīts temats. Esošā literatūra parasti ir par konkrētu sportistu, konkrētu sporta veidu vai konkrētām olimpiskajām spēlēm un nav problēmorientēta, bet gan aprakstoša. Tāpat sporta vēsture visbiežāk tiek pētīta nošķirti no citām nozarēm, piemēram, politikas un propagandas. Tāpēc šajā bakalaura darbā sportistu rezultāti tiks skatīti, mēģinot izprast to dažādos cēloņus. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir aplūkot latviešu sportistu līdzdalību PSRS izlases sastāvā olimpiskajās spēlēs no 1952. līdz 1988. gadam.

The Olympic Games is the biggest sporting event in the world, held every four years (separately for winter and summer sports). 20th century Latvian athletes, who had not gone into exile, participated there under the Soviet flag. These thesis devoted to Latvian athletes progress and results during the Soviet period. The history of Latvian athletes during the Soviet period, taking into account a variety of sources and literature, is insufficient studied topic. The existing literature is usually about a specific athlete, a particular sport or specific Olympic Games and is not a problem–oriented but descriptive. Also the history of Latvian athletes during Soviet times is analysed seperated from other fields of history. In these bachelor thesis author will try to understand different causes of latvian athletes results. The goal of the bachelor thesis is to reflect and analyze results of the Latvian athletes in the Olympic Games, during the period between 1952 and 1988.
