Varas problēma Hannas Ārentes un Mišela Fuko politiskajā filozofijā

Kas ir vara? Un kāda veida varas teorija ir nepieciešama, lai izskaidrotu varu? Maģistra darbā varas jēdziens tiek aplūkots, balstoties uz Hannas Ārentes un Mišela Fuko politisko filozofiju. Divu kundzības modeļu (disciplinārvaras un sociālā) analīze ļauj izcelt Fuko un Ārentei kopīgus priekšstatus par varas nesubjektīvo raksturu. Šis skatījums tiek papildināts ar Hannas Ārentes vēlīnajā domā attīstīto priekšstatu par iespējojošu, kopesamībā balstītu varu, kas no savas puses līdzsvaro varas nesubjektīvo dinamiku. What is power? And what kind of a theory of power is needed to account for it? The present thesis examines the concept of power in the political philosophy of Hannah Arendt and Michel Foucault. Two models are analysed – disciplines and ‘the social’ – showing that there is a common understanding of power as a non-subjective dominion over people in both Foucault and Arendt. This view is supplemented by another understanding of power as an enabling force found in the later work of Hannah Arendt that balances the non-subjective power dynamics found in disciplines and ‘the social’.
