The main goal of the master’s thesis “Certain aspects of teaching and learning mathematics” is to analyze the process of teaching and learning mathematics, paying particular attention to the psychological, pedagogical and mathematical aspects of this process.
The process of teaching and learning mathematics was analyzed on the basis of the pedagogical and psychological studies; the typical mistakes of the pupils were systemized and studied; various original tasks in the form of drawings were created, an electronic compilation of these tasks which stimulate the creative thinking of the pupils, foster their interest in independent discovery and mathematics itself was created; the author concludes, that the manner of solving mathematical tasks which stresses the use of drawings is generally beneficial in teaching and learning mathematics.
The present paper comprises of the introduction, the principal part, the conclusions and the list of sources and annexes. The principal part of the paper comprises of four chapters with sub-chapters.
