| dc.description.abstract | Mūsdienās palielinās saraŽoto atkritumu apjoms, tādēļ to pareiza apsaimniekošana kļūst arvien nozīmīgāka, lai no saraţotajiem atkritumiem varētu atgūt pēc iespējas vairāk otrreizēji izmantojamo materiālu. Bakalaura darbā ir izpētīts Malienas reģiona sadzīves atkritumu poligonā „Kaudzītes” ievesto atkritumu daudzums un sastāvs laika periodā no 2008. gada II ceturkšľa līdz 2011. gada nogalei. Ienākošie atkritumu apjomi ir salīdzināti ar prognozētajiem. Tika veikta Malienas reģiona iedzīvotāju aptauja, lai noskaidrotu sabiedrības zināšanu līmeni par atkritumu apsaimniekošanu, kā arī piedalīšanos tajā. Lai labāk izprastu situāciju Malienas reģionā, tika veikts pētījums, kura ietvaros tika noskaidrots nešķiroto sadzīves atkritumu morfoloģiskais sastāvs un otrreizēji izmantojam materiālu daudzums tajos. Labākam ieskatam atkritumu apsaimniekošanā, tika vispārēji apskatīta atkritumu apsaimniekošana Eiropas Savienībā un Latvijā.

| dc.description.abstract | Amounts of generated waste are increasing and it is important to have a proper waste management system. With proper waste management more recyclable materials can be recovered from total waste. Main objectives of this Bachelor’s thesis are to review composition and quantities of municipal waste generated in Maliena waste management region from second quarter of 2008. till the end of 2011. Generated waste quantities are compared to predicted quantities. A survey for Maliena region’s residents was made to find out public awareness of waste management and participation in it. In order to better understand current waste management a study was conducted to find out morphological composition of unsorted waste and amount of recyclable materials in it. An overview of waste management practices in EU and Latvia was made for better understanding of waste management.
Research consists of 51 pages, 21 picture, 6 tables and 2 appendixes.
