Šis bakalaura darbs veltīts dažādu aspektu izpētei, kas saistīti ar datu, konkrēti tekstu korpusu, izmantošanu valodu apguvē. Darba mērķis bija izpētīt tekstu korpusa izmantošanas pieeju valodas mācīšanā, kas veicina angļu valodas vārdu krājuma apguvi un izpratni. Autors izmantoja pašreiz tiešsaistē pieejamus tekstu korpusus. Darbā tiek izskaidrotas analizētas tekstu korpusu izmantošanas priekšrocības un trūkumi valodu apguvē. Darba empīriskā daļa ietver brīvpieejas tiešsaistes korpusu salīdzinošo analīzi. Turklāt darba autors ir arī pārbaudījis praksē tiešsaistes korpusu lietderību un lomu jauna vārdu krājuma apguvē. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka tiešsaistes tekstu korpusi var tikt veiksmīgi izmantoti gan valodas mācīšanas, gan tās mācīšanās procesā, lai uzlabotu studentu izpratni par mērķvalodas vārdu krājumu. The purpose of this bachelor paper was to investigate data-driven language learning (DDL) from various aspects. Thus, the goal of the paper was to explore corpus-based approach to language learning that contributes to acquisition and understanding of English vocabulary. The author has focused on corpora presently available on the Internet. Advantages and disadvantages of DDL have also been investigated. The empirical part of the paper consists of the author’s comparison of free online corpora. In addition, the author has also conducted an empirical research based on pilot teaching and aimed at exploring whether online corpora can be effective in acquisition of new vocabulary. The results of the investigation reveal that online corpora can be successfully applied in language teaching and learning to improve learners’ understanding of the vocabulary of the target language.
