The present bachelor thesis "Methodology of Teaching English Grammat One-to-one" aims at investigating the most appropriate methods and techniques to teach English grammar to a student with special needs. The theoretical part deals with the methodology of teaching English one-to-one, the ways and means of imparting grammar knowledge, and gives an insight into the psychological problems that might arise in the teaching/learning process. The paper relates theory to practice – the teacher has designed a syllabus and has piloted it. The effectiveness and necessity of different grammar activities and tasks have been analyzed. The conclusions drawn are based on the observations during the teaching/learning process and the results of the student’s needs analysis quetionnaires. The results of the pilot study prove that the knowledge of grammar can be improved by selecting appropriate grammar activities, as well as by using different teaching techniques. The results and conclusions of the paper can be used by other researchers who teach in the one-to-one mode and intend to make this process more effective and interesting, and to help the students regain confidence in his/her abilities to acquire a foreign language.
