Nowadays the social structure of the society is formed by various representatives of different ethnicities and races and not always the majority of people are well-disposed to those belonging to minority groups. Mass media plays an essential role in providing images of ethnicity and race whether they are positive or negative. The goal of this paper is to show exactly how this image is made and how it affects the society especially if the result is discrimination and derogation of minorities. In the process of this work theoretical and empirical research methods were used. Relevant literature about race classification, mass media, its components and methods as well as different advertisements were examined and analyzed. Interviews were carried out and analyzed. It was discovered that mass media has a powerful influence on people’s way of thinking, because it turned out that negative attitude towards minorities can still be observed.
