Maģistra darba tēma ir “Meklējumu motīvs Marka Tvena Konektikutas jeņķis karaļa Artūra galmā un Deivida Lodža darbā Mazā pasaule”. Darba mērķis ir rast meklējumu un varoņa kā minētā motīva neatņemamas sastāvdaļas nozīmi Svētā Grāla meklējumu kontekstā, kā arī izskaidrot tā nozīmi Marka Tvena un Deivida Lodža literārajos darbos. Literārajai analīzei izmantotas salīdzinošā un aprakstošā metodes. Uzmanība vērsta uz sekojošiem atslēgas vārdiem: Svētā Grāla meklējumu motīvs, varonis, meklējumu motīvu interpretācija Marka Tvena Konektikutas jeņķis karaļa Artūra galmā un Deivida Lodža darbā Mazā pasaule, salīdzinošā, aprakstošā metodes. The topic of the Master thesis is The Quest in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court by Mark Twain and Small World by David Lodge. The purpose is to research the meaning of a quest and a hero, as an integral part of the quest, motifs, prevailing in the quest of the Holy Grail, and interpret it within the mentioned literary works. The comparative and descriptive methods are used to analyze literary works. The attention is focused on the following key words as the quest of the Holy Grail, the hero, the quest motif interpretation in A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court by Mark Twain and Small World by David Lodge, comparative, descriptive methods. The author of the Master thesis has concluded that Mark Twain’s and David Lodge’s novels could be considered as bright examples of legends’ interpretation and quest motif representation.
