Vārddarināšana angļu valodā: saīsinājumu veidošana

Abstract

Šīs darbs ir velts saīsinājumiem angļu valodā, ka arī to pielietojumam mūsdienās. Darba mērķis ietver saīsinājumu funkciju noteikšanu un to tipu analīzi mūsdienu angļu valodas tekstos (konkrēti tekstos kas ir saistīti ar automobiļiem un auto tehnoloģijām). Darba hipotēze, kura skanēja tā: saīsinājumu lietošana palīdz ekonomēt vietu tekstā, ka arī lielāka daļa reģistrēto saīsinājumu būs saistīta ar automobiļu un auto tehnoloģiju pasauli pēc analīzes un rezultātu apkopošanas ir pierādīta. Darbā ir analizēta teorētiska literatūra par izvēlēto tēmu. Bija izdarīta tekstu analīze no divām avotiem. Reģistrētie saīsinājumi tika sadalīti pēc tipiem. Darbā tika uzzināts, ka visvairāk tiek lietotas abreviatūras, ka saīsinājumi visbiežāk tiek darināti svītrot vārda beigas un ka pat tekstos par automobiļiem var atrast daudz datorterminus. Visi atrasti dati tika sadalīti pēc tipiem un sagrupēti tabulās. Darba rezultāti varētu būt lietderīgi angļu valodas leksikas paplašināšanai, kā arī dziļākām studijām vispār. This paper views shortenings and their usage in the English language. The goal of the work includes defining the functions of shortened lexical units, analyze the existing types of shortenings and analyze modern English texts concerning the motoring world. The hypothesis of the work - the usage of shortenings in English helps save space in articles, as well as the majority of shortenings in motoring articles represent the motoring world – has been proved. To prove it a review of the theoretical literature was undertaken. A text analysis of two sources was carried out, and the results were analysed. All the found lexical units were divided into groups according to their types and it was found that the most widespread shortening type is abbreviation that clippings are mostly formed by reducing the end of the word and computing terms can be found even in the motoring articles. The practical significance of the present analysis: this material can be recommended for the understanding of the widening of the English vocabulary and extending general knowledge of the English language.
