Liekulība un snobisms Džeinas Ostenas romānos

Abstract

Bakalaura darba nolūks ir analizēt tādas raksturīgas īpašības kā liekulību un snobismu Džeinas Ostenas romānos. Pētījums ietver Lielbritānijas sabiedrības slāņu īpatnību analīzi atainojot aristokrātus, vidusslāni, un viņu uzvedību, tikumus un manieres. Pārbaudīts, ka šo noteikto īpašību izpausme ir novērojama ārkārtīgi bieži. Vēl vairāk - tā ir daļa no cilvēka dabas. Analizējot romānus un kritiķu recenzijas par šo tēmu, izpēte pierāda apgalvojumu, ka Ostenas darbos aprakstīts gan snobisms, gan nekaunīgi liekuļi, taču pretstats tiem ir cēlsirdīgas un laipnas personības, kas ļauj izprast šo kontrastu. Ņemot vērā romānu varoņu rakstura, manieru un sabiedriskā stāvokļa atšķirības, tika rasta saikne starp bagātību, snobismu un liekulību, tāpat kā ar citām negatīvām rakstura īpašībām un to atsoguļojumu. The purpose of the Bachelor paper is to define the characteristic features – hypocrisy and snobbery in Jane Austen’s novels. The central concept involves the analysis of peculiarities of British social classes: gentry, middle class and their different conduct, morals and manners. It was verified that expression of these certain traits are observed exceedingly often. Moreover- it is a part of human nature. Analysing novels and critical reviews on the issue, research proves the statement that snobbery as well as impertinent hypocrites are depicted in Jane Austen’s works, still the opposite of them are generous and kind personalities, which allow to understand this contrast. Considering the differences of the characters of the novels, their temper, manners and social status, the connection between the wealth, snobbery and hypocrisy as well as other negative qualities were found.Key words: hypocrisy, snobbery, manners, social status.
