Abstract
Šis darbs apskata sporta metaforu pielietojumu ziņu rakstos. Darba nolūks ir sporta metaforu pielietojuma salīdzināšana starp finanšu un juridiskajiem finanšu rakstiem. Darba teorētiskā daļa lielākoties sastāv no G. Lakova, M. Džonsona, M. Noulsa un Z. Koveces nostādnēm, taču apskata arī dažādus citus resursus. Lai veiktu izpēti, tika veikta kvantitatīvā un kvalitatīvā diskursa analīze izvēlētās tēmas perspektīvā. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, ka analizētie finanšu teksti izmanto vairāk sporta metaforas nekā analizētie juridiskie teksti. Visbiežāk atrodamā sporta metafora finanšu teksos ir ‘game plan’. Visbiežāk izmantotā sporta metafora juridiskajos tekstos ir ‘whistle blower’. Visbeidzot, kvalitatīvās analīzes rezultāti liecina, ka visbiežāk atrastās sporta metaforas cēlušās no vieglatlētikas, beisbola un kopējā sporta terminoloģijas.

The paper analyses the use of sports metaphors in news articles. This paper aims to compare the frequency of sports metaphors employed in financial and legal news articles. The theoretical part of this research is mostly comprised from the theories of Lakoff, G., Johnson, M., Knowles M., Kovecses Z., however, it makes use of other sources. In order to conduct the research, both qualitative and quantitative discourse analysis from the perspectives of the selected theme were applied. The research reveals that the analysed financial articles employ more sports metaphors than legal articles. The most frequent sports metaphor found in the financial articles is ‘game plan’. The most frequent sports metaphor in the legal articles is ‘whistle blower’. Finally, qualitative analysis reveals that the most frequent source domains of the sports metaphors are ‘athletics’, ‘baseball’ and sports, in general.
