Studentu komunikatīvās kompetences attīstīšana apgūstot mērķvalodas vārdu krājumu

Abstract

Diplomdarba mērķis ir pierādīt, ka daudzveidīga vārdu krājuma mācīšanas un tā apguves uzdevumu lietošana, kā arī apgūtā materiāla regulāra nostiprināšana paaugstina studentu spēju apgūt vārdu krājumu mērķvalodā, tādējādi veicinot komunikatīvās kompetences attīstību. Darbā sniegts pārskats par komunikatīvās kompetences jēdzienu saistībā ar svešvalodas mācīšanu un tās apguvi; lingvistiskā kompetence un leksiskā kompetence aplūkotas kā būtiskas komunikatīvās kompetences sastāvdaļas. Diplomdarbā izklāstīti vārdu apguves un vārdu krājuma bagātināšanas mērķi, un pievērsta uzmanība vārdu krājuma palielināšanas stratēģiju potenciālam svešvalodas apguvē; pamatota arī skolēnu vajadzību identifikācijas nozīme. Darbā aplūkota pilotpētījuma sagatavošanas stadija, kā arī izklāstīta tā norise; pievienoti aptauju, skolēnu pašnovērtējumu un pārbaudes darbu rezultāti. Pētījuma rezultāti izceļ tēmas aktualitāti, īpaši akcentējot leksikas mācīšanas un tās apguves uzdevumu pielietošanu svešvalodas apgūšana ar nolūku attīstīt skolēnu svešvalodas prasmes un veicināt komunikatīvās kompetences pilnveidošanu.

The present diploma paper seeks to highlight the claim that using a variety of vocabulary teaching and learning activities and ensuring regular consolidation of vocabulary increase students` target vocabulary acquisition leading to communicative competence development. The paper gives an overview and analysis of the concept of communicative competence in a foreign language teaching and learning. It treats the concepts of linguistic competence and lexical competence as essential components of communicative competence. The paper outlines the concept of vocabulary acquisition as well as the main targets of vocabulary development aspects in English foreign language teaching and learning. Vocabulary learning strategies are viewed as a potential for language studies. The author also attempts to prove the importance of identifying learners’ needs in the process of teaching a foreign language. The paper reflects the preparatory stage of the pilot study and reports the actual piloting of vocabulary teaching and learning activities for the learners of English as their foreign language, supported by the results of the check lists, learners’ self-assessment and questionnaires. The results of the research accentuate the topicality of the subject under investigation in terms of vocabulary teaching and learning activities used in the foreign language classroom to advance learners’ language skills and communicative competence development.
