Okupācijas varas cenzūras darbība Latvijas Akadēmiskajā bibliotēkā

Abstract

Maģistra darbā apskatīta Latvijas Akadēmiskās bibliotēkas (LAB) specfonda darbība no 1945. līdz 1990. gadam. Specfondu dibināja 1945. gadā, kā īpašu bibliotēkas vienību, kur padomju okupācijas režīms koncentrēja režīmam nevēlamas „kaitīgas” grāmatas. LAB krājumu tīrīšana notika visu padomju okupācijas laiku, īpaši intensīvi līdz 1956. gadam. 70.-80. gados specfonda galvenais komplektēšanas avots bija ārzemju literatūras sūtījumi, bet 1973. gadā LAB kļuva par trimdas literatūras glabāšanas centru. Darbā atspoguļota specfonda darbība ar „kaitīgajām” grāmatām: krājuma organizēšana, lasītāju apkalpošana, katalogu un kartotēku veidošana. Izpētīta specfondā ievietotā literatūra, informācijas ierobežošana un slēpšana no lasītājiem. Specfonda darbinieki bija spiesti piedalīties cenzūras represīvajās darbībās: kontrolēt bibliotēkas atklāto grāmatu krājumu, cenzēt grāmatas un sniegt atskaites Galvenajai literatūras pārvaldei.

The master's paper focuses on the activities of the Department of Censored Books of the Latvian Academic Library (LAL) from 1945 to 1990. The Department was founded in 1945 as a special department where the Soviet occupational regime stored books that were "pernicious" to the regime. Weeding of the LAL collections lasted through all the years of the Soviet occupation, but it was especially ardent until 1956. In 1970s-1980s its main acquisitions source was shipments of foreign literature, but since 1973 it became the main depository of Latvian exile literature. The master's paper investigates the work of the Department with "pernicious" books: collection organization, readers service, creation of catalogues and files. The paper investigates literature stored at the Department, restriction of information and its hiding from readers. The Department staff had to take part in these repressive activities: to check books in the library collections, censor books and report to the Censorship Board.
