Abstract

Maģistra darba „Mežaparka apkaimes (Rīga) attīstības novērtējums laika posmā no 2002. gada līdz 2010. gadam” mērķis bija novērtēt Mežaparka attīstības tendences no 2002. gada līdz 2010. gadam apkaimju ilgtspējas kontekstā. Maģistra darba 1–3 nodaļa ir teorētiskā daļa, kur ir aplūkoti jautājumi par dzīvojamo rajonu – apkaimi un tās ilgtspējīgas attīstības rādītājiem, izpētīti labu apkaimju vides plānošanas pamatprincipi, kā arī sniegts Mežaparka apkaimes vispārējs raksturojums. 5.nodaļā ir sniegts Mežaparka novērtējums pēc autores izstrādāta labas apkaimes kritēriju „topa 10”, kam pamatā autores apkopotais Mežaparka apkaimes raksturojums pēc 58 ilgtspējīgas attīstības rādītājiem. Maģistra darba mērķa sasniegšanai tika veikta apkaimes izpēte, kā arī vietējo un citu Rīgas iedzīvotāju anketēšana. Pamatojoties uz maģistra darba rezultātiem, secināts, ka vairākās jomās Mežaparka apkaimes attīstība notiek atbilstoši ilgtspējīgas apkaimes pamatprincipiem. Deviņu gadu laikā uzlabojušies apstākļi gājējiem, riteņbraucējiem un cilvēkiem ar īpašām vajadzībām. Apkaimes vājākās puses ir nodrošinājums ar sabiedrisko transportu un atkarība no privātā transporta. Darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā. Darba kopapjoms ir 62 lapaspuses, darbā ir 11 attēli, 2 tabulas un 6 pielikumi.

The main goal of Masters thesis „Monitoring and Assessment of Development in Mezaparks Neighbourhood (Riga) from 2002 to 2010” is to research development trends in Mezaparks from 2002 to 2010 using indicators of sustainable development. The first three chapters of the Masters work are a review of relevant literature on the topic. Questions examined include the concept of the neighbourhood, indicators of neighborhood sustainable development, key principles of liveable neighbourhoods and a general characterization of Mezaparks. In chapter 5 an assessment of Mezaparks is undertaken using „top 10” indicators of a sustainable neighbourhood, which were developed by the author as part of this study. Appendix 6 contains a description of the Mezaparks neighbourhood using 58 indicators of sustainable development. To achieve the goal of the Masters work a survey of neighbourhood residents and others living in Riga was undertaken. Based on the indicator and survey results conclusions were drawn regarding the sustainability of development in Mezaparks based on the key principles. Over the last nine years positive development trends are observed with respect to conditions for pedestrians, cyclists and physically challenged persons. Negative trends were observed with respect to public transport services and an increase in the reliance on automobile transport. The Masters work is written in Latvian and consists of 62 pages. The Masters work includes 11 illustrations, 2 tables and 6 appendixes.
