| dc.description.abstract | Bakalaura darba mērķis ir atklāt, kā laikrakstos "Mļras Zeme" un "Darba Karogs"/"Rēzeknes Vēstis" (1989–1992) konstruēta latgaliskā identitāte.
Teorijā raksturota reprezentācija, kolektīvā atmiņa, nacionālā un reģionālā identitāte. Preses izpētei izvēlēta diskursa vēsturiskā analīze un kvantitatīvā kontentanalīze. Apskatīts Latgales atmodas periodu vēsturiskais konteksts, raksturota preses sistēma.
Rezultāti liecina, ka analizētajos laikrakstos latgaliskā identitāte konstruēta, rakstot par latgaliešu valodu, vēsturi un kultūru, latgaliskajām vērtībām. Publikācijās konstruētajā “mēs-viņi” diskursā latgalieši identificēti kā patstāvīga kopiena, tomēr daļā rakstu latgalieši uzrunāti kā latvieši.

| dc.description.abstract | The aim of this research is to discover how Latgalian identity is constructed in newspapers "Mļras Zeme" un "Darba Karogs"/"Rēzeknes Vēstis" (1989–1992).
The theoretical part of this research discusses representation, collective memory, national and regional identity theories. Discourse historical method and quantitative content analysis have been chosen to study the press. The research also describes historical context of the Latgale awakening period as well as the press system.
The results prove that in the analysed newspapers the Latgalian identity is constructed through content of the publications – mostly when writing about Latgalian language, history and culture of Latgale, Latgalian values. In the “we-they” discourse constructed in the publications Latgalians are identified as independent community, however in some articles are distinguished as Latvians.
