Forests of slopes and ravines are the most protected forest habitats. It means that they are vulnerable not only in Latvia, but also in Europe. The habitat is incorporated in EU 92/43/EEC „Protection of natural habitats and wild fauna and flora” Directive. Slope and ravine forests are influenced not only by relief, but also by micro-climate that promotes high biodiversity.
The aim of this Bachelor paper is to find out characteristics of vegetation geographical and ecological features of slope and ravine forests. For this aim territory that is natural and not influenced by humans was selected, at the coast of the Losis river which is tributary of the river Venta.
Research was made at June, 2011, at the Losupe river’s downstream in village Kalni. When making field work, route method for accounting all the plant species was used.
On 2012’s June at the slopes there were made three rectangular 16 m x 10 m large plots, who were selected randomly.
