The goal of the work was to design a method for measuring the retinal thickness using the Shack-Hartmann aberrometry. A material of the artificial retina was selected and samples with different thickness were created. Using Shack-Hartmann aberrometers with the focal length 3mm and 18.6mm images containing a double-spot pattern were created. Using Matlab, the double-spots were selected and the retinal thickness was determined.
It was concluded that longer lenslet focal length is more suited to acquire a pronounced double-spot pattern. The spot pattern could be evaluated only in a qualitative, not quantitative way. The selected material affected the results significantly.
