Šī maģistra darba mērķis ir iztirzāt veidus, kādos var attīstīt vidusskolēnu klausīšanās un runas prasmes. Teorētiskajā daļā aplūkoti klausīšanās un runāšanas uzdevumu mērķi un veidi, kuri tiek izmantoti klasē. Lai attīstītu šīs prasmes stundās, ir jāņem vērā šādi aspekti: pirms - , kamēr – un pēc klausīšanās uzdevumu plānošana. Analizējot skolotāju stundu plānus un novērojot dažādu prasmju stundas Rīgas 64. vidusskolā, var nonākt pie secinājuma, ka teorija ir saistīta ar praksi. Metode, kas tika pielietota diplomdarbā, ir gadījuma izpēte. Praktiskā daļa balstās uz autores personīgo darba pieredzi skolā, viņas pašnovērtējumu un pārdomām par savām stundām. Lai padarītu mācīšanas un mācīšanās procesu efektīvāku, šī maģistra darba rezultātus un secinājumus var izmantot skolēnu klausīšanās un runas prasmju attīstīšanā.

The theoretical part deals with the purposes, types of listening and speaking activities done in the language classroom, To develop listening skills means to consider the aspects of planning pre-listening; while-listening and post-listening activities. It relates theory to practice by analysing the teachers’ lesson plans and integrated skills lessons at Riga Secondary school No 64. The method used in the investigation is a case study. The practical part is based on the author’s teaching experience, self-assessment and reflection on her lessons. The results and conclusions of this research can be used in planning English language lessons in order to develop secondary school students’ listening and speaking skills thus making the teaching and learning process more effective.
