Armēņi Tuvajos Austrumos

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma ir "Armēņi Tuvajos Austrumos". Armēnija ir sena augstas kultūras valsts, ar ļoti bagātu vēsturi. Armēnijas vēsture, par kuras autoru tiek uzskatīts Movsess Horenatsi, apraksta Armēnijas aizvēsturi, ieskaitot mītus par armēņu izcelsmi kā arī Sasanīdu, Bizantijas un Aršakidas Armēniju, kas attiecas uz 5. gs. Tā satur unikālu seno armēņu leģendu materiālu un daudz informācijas par pagānu (pirms kristietības) Armēniju, par armēņu izcelsmi un diasporu Tuvajos Austrumos. Šīs darbs dalās trīs nodaļās: Pirmā nodaļa sastāv no trīm daļām un ir veltīta Armēnijas vēsturei - dažādu armēņu veidojošām valstīm un karalistēm, par to attiecībām un kaujām ar impērijām un ar Arābu Kalifātu, kas vienmēr ir mēģinājušas iekarot Armēnijas teritoriju un kontrolēt to. Otrā nodaļa ir veltīta armēņu baznīcām (gan Katoļu, gan Apustuliskajai), to veidošanai, kā arī – galvenajai reliģijai – kristietībai, kā armēņi to pieņēma un mēģināja saglābāt. Trešajā nodaļā ir pētīta armēņu diaspora un armēņu kopienu dzīve Tuvo Autrumu valstīs, tās ietekme uz cilvēku likteņiem.

The theme of the Paper is "Armenians In The Middle East". Armenia is an ancient high-cultured country that has a very rich history. The history of Armenia attributed to Movses Khorenatsi, is an early account of Armenia, covering the mythological origins of the Armenian people as well as Sassanid, Byzantine and Arshacid Armenia down to the 5th century. It contains unique material on ancient Armenian legends, and such information on pagan (pre-Christian) Armenia as has survived. It also has information about the Armenian Diaspora in the Middle East. The paper is split into three chapters: The first chapter is divided into three parts and devoted to the history of Armenians, several Armenian kingdoms and states, relationships and battles with the Empires and the Arab Caliphate: they always managed to overtake Armenian territories and control them. The second chapter is devoted to the Armenian Churches (Catholic and Apostolic) and their establishment, and the main religion of the Armenian people – Christianity. In the third chapter the attention is given to the Armenian Diaspora and life of Armenian communities in the Middle East countries.
