V.S. Moema romāna „Raibais plīvurs” ekranizācija

Abstract

Filma “Raibais plīvurs” ir V. S. Moema tāda paša nosaukuma romāna ekranizācija. Pēc docentes Antras Leines klasifikācijas tā pieder pie attālās transformācijas adaptāciju tipa. Šajā bakalaura darbā tikušas izanalizētas romāna un filmas līdzības un atšķirības. „Raibā plīvura” tēlam ir svarīga nozīme romāna un filmas izprašanā. Tas kalpo kā metafora, kā robežšķirtne starp šķitumu un īstenību. Tā pacelšana radikāli izmaina galveno varoņu dzīves. Atšķirībā no romāna filma sniedz informāciju par ķīniešu kultūru, viņu smago darbu un vienkāršo dzīvesveidu. Bakalaura darbā tiek analizēts romāns, filmas scenārijs, filmas izveide, operatora darbs, aktieru tēlojums, mūzika, interjers un kostīmi, raibā plīvura tēls filmā, kā arī kritiķu recenzijas par filmu.

The film “The Painted Veil” is a screen version of W.S.Maugham’s novel of the same title. According to docent Antra Leine’s classification, it belongs to the remote transformation type of adaptations. The BA paper analyses similarities and differences between the novel and the film. Both in the novel and the film the image of “the painted veil” plays a crucial role in the understanding of the plot.”The painted veil” serves as a metaphor symbolising the partition between appearances and reality. The lifting of it changes the life of the main characters radically. Unlike the novel, the film renders some information about the culture of the Chinese people, their toil and their simple lifestyle. The paper analyses the novel, the film’s script, the production of the film, work of the operator, actors’ performance, music, interior and costumes, the painted veil image in the film, alongside with the critics’ reviews of the film.
